Duranki is a project presenting the ancient Mesopotamian civilization of Sumer, which is situated in the southern half of modern Iraq, and is roughly dated between 3500-2000 BC. The word “Duranki” is a Sumerian compound word made up of three words: “Dur,” meaning “bond,” or “tie,” “An,” meaning “heaven,” and “Ki,” meaning “earth.” Therefore, resulting in “Bond between Heaven and Earth.”

The intent of this project is to unveil the intimate relationship between the Sumerian people and their pantheon of gods, as well as their contributions as an agricultural society. Duranki has been designed for both the layman and the scholar.
